Roses thrive best in a well-drained soil, rich in organic matter. For proper development they require frequent feeding from the start of the growing season until the middle of September. When planting new roses, dig a hole about 12” across and 18” deep. Add peat moss and 2 cups of Rose-tone to the soil and mix thoroughly. Place your rose in the hole and refill with soil. The planting depth should be such that the graft knuckle is just below ground level.

 

For established roses, feed monthly from the beginning of the season to the middle of September. Keep the plants mulched and watered. For individual rose plants, apply approximately ¾ cup of Rose-tone around each plant and scratch into the top inch of soil. For rose beds, spread 4 pounds of Rose-tone per 100 square feet of bed area and scratch into the top inch of soil.
