Al's Garden Center's Premium Organic Potting Soil Not
all potting soils are created equal. There are many specialty potting
soils for everything from seed starting to soil amending. That’s
why Al’s Garden Center developed our own private label Premium
Organic Potting Soil.Al’s potting soil is an all-purpose potting soil. It
contains the same organic combination of Canadian sphagnum peat moss, bark
and pumice that we use at our growing facilities in all our
Grown-By-Al’s plants.
Canadian sphagnum peat moss is a natural, organic soil
conditioner that accurately regulates moisture and air around plant roots
for ideal growing conditions. Peat retains up to 20 times its weight
in moisture, and releases water slowly as a plant needs it. It helps
to aerate heavy, clay soil when used as a soil amendment and,
consequently, helps reduce the cost of added nutrients.
Pumice is the little white rock-like pieces your find in the
Al’s Premium Organic Potting Soil. Pumice’s low density
will help improve the porosity and aeration of your
soil. With millions of interconnecting tiny holes,
pumice is able to absorb, retain and release water. The peat
and barkwill help retain nutrients and releas them to the plant.
