Have your soil analyzed for pH and available nutrients.
Prepare your soil adding organic material like well age compost,
organic or conventional fertilizers.
FEBRUARY
Time to begin planting pea seeds for harvest in June, and potatoes
for harvest May through September.
MARCH
Plant cole crop from seeds or starts, like lettuce, cabbage,
broccoli, and cauliflower for harvest in 6 weeks.
APRIL
Plant from seed radishes and carrots for harvest in July.
MAY
Plant tender vegetables, once the fear of frost has past, like
tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, basil and cantaloupes. Cucumbers can
begin to be harvested in July. Tomatoes, cantaloupe, and peppers can
begin to be harvested in August.
JULY
Plant a second crop of cucumbers for harvest in October, and a second
crop of radish and carrots from seed for harvest in October.
AUGUST
Keep picking your harvest, and share some with your
neighbors. Plant a second crop of basil.
SEPTEMBER
Remove all the vegetable plants you are tired of eatting. Plant
cole crops like lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower for winter
harvest.
