Birdhouses by Wildwood ProductsLiving in the Northwest we are blessed to be the home of many
varieties of birds. It’s no wonder that this time of year we
put our birdfeeders and birdhouses out in the hopes of bringing more of
these feathered friends to our home. Arley Boyce, a retired Beaverton
High School administrator, took it a step further and created a haven for
his flying visitors.
In late 80’s, Arley, along with his son Fritz Boyce, began
designing and constructing numerous styles of houses and
feeders. Thousands of houses and feeders later the two came up with a
few designs that birds enjoyed using so much that they became a
“must-have” for bird enthusiasts. What’s makes them
so great? Wildwood Products were built out of driftwood and
juniper. They use the wood’s character to create natural
looking homes. Each home or feeder is a one of a kind and is truly a
work of Nature’s art. The houses are built to the Audubon
Society’s specifications and are fully functional. Each roof is
removable, allowing the house to be cleaned for next season’s family
to move in. The birdhouses are so beautiful that many are used as
indoor decoration as well.
Today, Fritz now runs the business. Wildwood
Products has now expanded the house and feeder line to include
Squirrel houses and “Fancies” with a variety of woods used
such as Lodgepole pine, and birch. If you are interested in hosting a
family of birds this season you can find Wildwood Products at Al’s
Garden Center in Woodburn and Sherwood.
