Als Garden Center :: Why We Wear Purple

A few years ago a customer commented that they could not find anyone to help them with their plant question. Looking out into the nursery there were plenty of employees ready to be of assistance, but due to the neutral color of their uniforms customers could not pick them out among all the plants. For Al's Garden Center, where customers come first, this needed to be corrected.

Many different colors were tested, but none of them "popped" enough against all the colorful blooms and plants. It was then that Jack Bigej, owner of Al's Garden Center found our signature color purple. The bold color was an initial shock to many.

Now when you look out into the nursery you will see all the brightly dressed Al's employees, also known as Purple People, ready to help with any of your gardening questions and needs.
