Al’s Kids’Club: Growing Families

With so many things competing for our time these days, I personally know how important it is to multitask and prioritize the activities that will offer the most value and quality time for me and my family.  I truly get it.  It is with this understanding that I started Al’s Kids’ Club 10 years ago.  At the time I was a young mother with one child.  Five kids later, with twins on the end, and helping with the family business I’ve seen our time as a family fly by.  I’ve realized how limited my time is to truly enjoy my children while they still think I’m fabulous and want to “hang out” with me. As a mom, I want to offer you my Top Ten reasons why you should choose to join us one Saturday each month for Al’s Kids’ Club.

 

10) Sleep is overrated!  I know this firsthand from having twins! At Al’s Kids’ Club you’ll be able to spend quality time with all the other parents and families who will share this understanding, too.

 

9) There will always be household chores, but eventually, your children will grow up.  We need to spend the time now enjoying them and “growing” them into the people they are meant to be.

 

8) Gardening is a lifelong activity that crosses all age groups and is timeless.  Some of my fondest memories are of my grandmother in her garden.  Al’s Kids’ Club can teach your children something they can pass on your grandchildren.

 

7) Quality time together as a family.  We appreciate your time, and know the attention span of most kids, especially in a large group.  So we pack lots of learning in a half an hour period of time so you can get on with your other weekend activities.

 

6) Each month, your child will learn something new and you may too! Our classes offer a wide range of information about gardening and nature from growing vegetables to building a birdhouse. There is something for everyone!

 

5) We love to have fun!  We always have lots of happy Al’s employees, a.k.a. Purple People around.  The exciting, fun atmosphere offers a positive learning environment that you as a parent can appreciate and where your child will thrive.

 

4) Al’s Kids Club is interactive and hands on.  Each month your child, along with the other kids, gets to learn through doing.  They then get to take their project home to nurture it, enjoy it or watch it grow.  Their experience lasts well beyond the ½ hour class.

 

3) Kids love learning, digging in the dirt and exploring new things.  Gardening opens our eyes to a bigger world around us.  Through Al’s Kids’ Club you have an opportunity to see this world through your child’s eyes and imagination.

 

2) Did I mention we hold these classes in the garden centers?  What a beautiful place to spend a morning.

 

1) The pride and sense of accomplishment on your child’s face is priceless!  Your child’s smile from ear to ear as they carry their latest project to the door is worth every minute for all of us.  We can’t buy these moments, nor can we get them back.  Sometimes the simplest things bring the most joy.
