Archer Glen Kindergarten Pumpkin Patch
The field at Archer Glen Elementary School was transformed into a
pumpkin patch one bright blue skied morning last October. The
kindergarteners in both Ms. Shaw’s and Mrs. Reynold’s classes
raced to claim their favorite pumpkin in the green grassy field at the
school. Teacher Lindsey Shaw came to Al’s Garden Center in
Sherwood just a few days before the big hunt and explained that there was
some confusion with the pumpkins that were supposed to be donated from
another organization, and the pumpkin hunt was without pumpkins. Lindsey
asked if Al’s could possibly step in and supply some of the pumpkins
for the big hunt, because she didn’t want to disappoint the
kids. Some caring parents had donated some pumpkins to help fill the
need, but not enough for all the kids. Al’s Garden Center
supplied the pumpkins and hunt was on! The kindergarteners had a
wonderful time racing around to find their perfect pumpkin, and then
carrying their prized pumpkin back to the school.
